Properties of Kunzite
Science and origin of Kunzite
Kunzite is the pink form of spodumene, a lithium aluminum silicate. Kunzite is commonly found in granitic pegmatites, often with feldspar, muscovite, quartz and lepidolite. It is named after GF Kunz who discovered the mineral in 1902. The main deposits of Kunzite are in Pakistan and Afghanistan, but it is also found in Brazil, Madagascar and the United States.
Meaning and energy
Kunzite opens the heart and makes it act like a vacuum, allowing all different types of love to be drawn in. Love for humanity, nature, animals and the Earth consumes the user's heart and releases divine love. Kunzite grants goodness, kindness and self-esteem, releasing positivity from the inside out. The powers of Kunzite also help alleviate stress and negative emotions that tend to accompany us on a daily basis.
Kunzite helps reconnect the heart with the mind and emotions, removing any blockages between the two. This is important when it comes to managing emotions, something almost everyone struggles to do. You will relearn how to look for answers in your heart and allow those answers to resolve the problems in your mind.
Crystal Associations
Kunzite works well when used with Hiddenite. Both of these crystals are forms of spodumene, which enhance the strength of the heart-mind connection. Moldavite is another crystal that works well with kunzite, especially in times when one is going through a transformation of some sort. Kunzite will heal and allow you to “shed” your old layers while the transformative properties of Moldavite allow growth into your “new skin”.
