Peridotite is a rock that is found widely throughout the world . It is probably one of the most abundant igneous rocks in the solar system.
The mantle, approximately 3000km thick (reminder: the crust under the continents measures 35 to 40km and under the oceans 6 to 7km) is mainly made up, in the upper parts , of molten material (peridotite) which results in the formation of rocks igneous or magmatic.
