Calm the pain of neuralgia with these 5 stones

Neuralgia is a painful surge along the path of a sensory nerve. This pain sometimes has an unidentified cause. The most common are sciatica (buttock and lower limb), cervico-brachial neuralgia (upper limb), trigeminal neuralgia (face).

Neuralgia can have an infectious origin linked to the presence of a virus (such as shingles).

It can have a mechanical cause caused by compression of a nerve . This is for example the case of compression of the sciatic nerve by a herniated disc.

Neuralgia can be the consequence of an autoimmune disease such as Guillain Barré Syndrome .

Neuralgia can also be without cause , such as essential trigeminal neuralgia. In this case, it is the consequence of pressure exerted by a blood vessel on a nerve in the skull.

Neuralgia is characterized by subacute pain , evolving in bursts, like electrical discharges, in the territory corresponding to the affected nerve.

It can be accompanied by sensory or motor disorders (sciatica), visual symptoms (facial neuralgia of the trigeminal nerve) etc. Generally, a background of pain persists between two attacks.
