Crown Chakra Meaning
The crown chakra is the 7th chakra in the body, which allows you to feel divine unity and harmony with all living beings and everything around you.
The primary purpose of the crown chakra is to align you, through spirituality, self-realization, consciousness and enlightenment, with divine power and the infinite flow of healing energy.
The element associated with the crown chakra is "thought", and the color of the crown chakra is purple.
Sahasrara translates (in Sanskrit) to "a thousand times" and the symbol of the crown chakra is represented by a thousand-petalled lotus, composed of the following elements:
- 1000 petals with all the vrittis of the previous chakras.
- A circle in the middle.
- The mantra OM ॐ in the center.
Let's take a look at each of these elements individually and find out what they mean.
Crown chakra symbol: 1000 petal lotus
The crown chakra symbol is usually depicted as a purple-colored 1,000-petal lotus flower, regardless of the tradition or artist who created the illustration of the symbol.
The thousand petals of the Sahasrara symbol are said to symbolize the power of Kundalini energy, which rises in the awakened crown chakra.
When Kundalini moves to the top of the brain, divine realization manifests in the region of Baihui or DU 20 (place where all the energies of the body converge).
Ultimately, this amazing feeling can be described as a flower with many petals opening at the top of your head.
- Crown Chakra Symbol: The Circle of Unity
- The circle in the center of the symbol represents the emptiness of space.
As your consciousness rises from the lower chakras up to the crown chakra, you will be able to connect and merge with this infinite space.
You can also think of it as a "circle of unity" with all living things in the universe.
The crown chakra symbol sometimes has an OM ॐ syllable in the middle, also known as the bija mantra (or seed mantra).
OM is considered the fundamental sound of the world, which includes all other sounds. It is also a sacred spiritual symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism, where it is considered the supreme sound of the universe and a representation of the Creator.
Crown Chakra Symbol: Violet Color
The color associated with the crown chakra is purple, which has the highest vibrational frequency of the entire color spectrum.
Purple is a color of spirituality, reflection and self-awareness.
A purple aura indicates that a person is very curious, interested and willing to seek answers to various problems in life to follow the right path.
Purple gives an inner feeling of unity, integrity and wholeness.
White is another color that is often associated with the crown chakra. White represents purity, perfection, innocence and new beginnings. It will encourage you to stay calm, focus and keep your mind open.
